Botz’s Best Hip-Hop Album Of 2018: Kendrick Lamar: DAMN.

As we countdown to the end of this year and a beginning of a new, I will be sharing some of my favorite things from this year which includes Kendrick Lamar’s fourth album DAMN. The album was released in April and went double platinum by mid-July in the United States. For me, this was his best body of work since his second album Good Kid M.A.A.D City. Even with the success of DAMN.,  people still prefer his third album To Pimp A Butterfly over this project.

When I rank this album among other the other albums this year it is the top of the list with SZA’s CTRL close behind it. Despite some of the critic’s comments on rather DAMN was better than any of his earlier works doesn’t reflect on how much success the album has had this year.
The album’s minimalism and Kendrick’s social commentary and deep introspection is what sucked his listeners and made this album what it is today.

What was your favorite album this year?
