HOT TRACKS: Future & Juice WRLD, Takeoff, and Trippie Redd

This week has been relatively quiet when it comes to new music which gives us time to digest some tracks we may have missed over the last couple of weeks.  This week we checked out tracks from Future & Juice WRLD, Takeoff, and Trippie Redd.

Takeoff – “Last Memory

This is the first solo single from one-third of the Migos Takeoff. This track is just a taste of what Takeoff will be giving us off his solo album The Last Rocket on Nov. 2. Takeoff is one of the most consistent members of the group, but also the least flashy and it shows in his first single. Last Memory‘ isn’t his first solo track. Back in May, he released ‘Intruder’.

Future & Juice WRLD – “Realer N Realer’

This track is one of my favorites off of their collaborative album WRLD ON DRUGS.  On the track, Juice talks about how his life has changed since he’s gained some fame. From making money from investments to losing XXXTENTACION gun violence. While Future boasts about his jewelry and turning a stripper to his maid, bringing a touch Magic City to the crib. Take a listen to Realer N Realer‘ and let me know your thoughts on the duo.

Trippie Redd – “Topanga”

Produced by Chopsquad DJ, Topanga‘ has a gospel instrumental which samples Maurette Brown Clark’s ‘It Aint Over’.  On the track, Trippie sings about having to carry a gun everywhere he goes because of the gun violence around his community.  What makes this track infectious to me is its production.

That’s it for this week. It’s been a slow week for music and entertainment as a whole, so this week’s hottest tracks list is short. If there’s a track that you feel should’ve made the list let me know in the comments or tweet me on twitter. Until then see you next week!

I just shared your blog on my Facebook. I love your take on music! You always make me go and listen on iTunes after. I’m so not current with music, I listen to Jay and punk rock lol so this makes branch out. LOVE your work.
