Over the last month, some of the most beloved R&B artists in the industry have been teasing new music. From The Weeknd releasing two new singles last month to 6LACK hinting a new album on Twitter. Things have been set up for a lot of first-quarter releases just in time for Valentine’s Day. Even if we don’t get all of the expected albums in the first quarter this year seems like it will be one filled with good R&B.

Let’s take a look at some of the music we can expect soon.

The Weeknd

Just a few weeks ago, The Weeknd released Heartless‘ and Blinding Lights. These two tracks solidified that he is going to drop sometime in the near future after having a quiet year last year. It’s expected that he is going to drop sometime at the beginning of the year.

At the end of 2019, Usher shared his latest singles LaLaLawith Black Coffee and Don’t Waste My Time with Ella Mai. Both of these singles could possibly end up on the hotly-anticipated album Confessions 2. I expect this album to possibly be officially announced or released around the anniversary of is processor in March.

After releasing his sophomore album East Atlanta Love Letter in 2018 6LACK has appeared on a lot of collaborations and working on a rumored collaborative project with J.I.D. He’s expected to start dropping new music soon as he teased a new album on his Twitter a couple of weeks ago.

Party is expected to drop his album sometime this month. After teasing that the album was coming on his Twitter back in November, Party dropped off two new songs The News and Loyal which features Drake.  Party hasn’t dropped a project since his Seven Days EP back in September ’17. Most likely the album will drop on 1.10 after he tweeted “We Droppin'” at the beginning of this week.

Bryson Tiller

Bryson’s next album Serenity announced ages ago, seems to be on its way. Pushed back in 2018 because of mental health issues, it seems like Bryson is finally ready to release it. Last year he shared the two singles that most likely will appear on the album in Canceled‘ and ‘Blame’. It makes sense for him to release this year after welcoming a new child with girlfriend Kendra Bailey.

Keep An Eye Out For

Some other artists have been hinting at projects but not much as been shown outside of their word. SZA has reemerged on social media after a hiatus and stated that she is ready to release new music. Trends also show that Jhene Aiko is also another artist that may be working on a full-length project as well. Beyoncé is also expected to drop sometime this year, but I doubt it will be until the Summer if she does. Rihanna is also said to release music this year. I feel that she will release earlier in the year as Beyoncé may wait until the end of the year depending on what Rihanna may do.
