The Music That Defined 2017

This year has been a good one when it comes to music and new artists. As far as I can remember it has been two or three years since we had a strong year when it came down to new  music and artists. Artists like Lil Uzi Vert and SZA came on the scene with their début albums and took over the year with solid singles while other artists solidified themselves as artists to be reckoned with in the industry. Botz’s Best Hip-Hop Album Of 2018: Kendrick Lamar: DAMN.

As we countdown to the end of this year and a beginning of a new, I will be sharing some of my favorite things from this year which includes Kendrick Lamar’s fourth album DAMN. The album was released in April and went double platinum by mid-July in the United States. For me, this was his best body of work since his second album Good Kid M.A.A.D City. Even with the success of DAMN.,  people still prefer his third album To Pimp A Butterfly over this project.Continue Reading

The Migos Was The Hottest Group In Hip-Hop In 2017

It’s safe to say that Hip-Hop in 2017 was taken over by the Migos and they plan on continuing the wave of success with the release of Culture II. The Atlanta trio started off 2017 with their lead single which featured Lil Uzi VertBad and Boujee” which gained the momentum needed to launch Culture into the heights that it went. It was the base of the movement that allowed the Migos to cross over and take over the air waves in America.Continue Reading
