Khalid & 6LACK: The Ambassadors of Mood Music

So I was laying around listening to music and noticed how 6LACK and Khalid have been featured on a ton of music over the last couple of years. They have silently been two of the hottest artists in the industry. Even though their style of R&B isn’t too popular in the mainstream, it is a growing sound on the underground circuits. This is primarily the main reason why they have been highly sought after for features. Over the last two years or less, 6LACK  alone has been featured on over 40 tracks. The New Forms of Music Discovery

Over the last twenty years, the music industry has undergone so many changes. With the emergence of streaming and social media, the industry became more like the wild west. So much music began to be released on a more consistent basis people barely had time to digest it all. Because of this people started to share their thoughts on social media instead of blogging. All of these people, including experts are now taking the place of music blogs. Spotify Playlist: 2000s R&B

The 00s was a good period musically for me. I was a student in high school during the early 00s and was exposed more than ever before to music thanks to the rise of the internet. Prior to that time I only experienced music through radio and music video countdowns. One of my favorite genres in high school was R&B. Since I was into writing, I was drawn more to that genre because of just that. So this week I will be taking a look at some of my favorite R&B songs from that era. I will also be sharing my Spotify playlist which is always being updated. So let’s get to it.
